DSiWare will Transfer to 3DS
by Steve Watts, Jan 19, 2011 2:15pm PSTAmong today's myriad of 3DS announcements, Nintendo sent confirmation that the new hand-held will let you keep your purchases from the DSiWare Shop. The press release mentions that users will be able to transfer downloadable software from one 3DS to another, or content purchased using a DSi system.
It's unclear right now if this would mean re-downloading your purchased content from the newly branded "Nintendo eShop" or if users could simply connect the two systems to each other locally.
Now for the bad news. The info on transfers comes with a disclaimer: "There is a limit to how many times transfers can be made. Some software may not be transferred." Nintendo probably just included it to protect itself in case some pieces of software run into errors, but it's still a few droplets of rain on our parade.
