Evening Reading
by Jeff Mattas, Jan 14, 2011 5:00pm PSTAnd just like that, another week's worth of 2011 has been successfully strong-armed through the wood-chipper. Fargo-style. Not to worry though. There are still fifty glorious weeks left, which, of course, means fifty more weeks worth of new game releases to look forward to.
And speaking of dismemberment, I'm pretty excited to get my hands on a copy of Dead Space 2, soon. I've been doing my best to steer clear of the media and hype about the game so far (so as not to ruin the surprises), but the preliminary word on the street has been pretty positive. Here's hoping!
But enough speculation. I believe there is a chatty that would like to make your acquaintance. Play nicely, everyone.

Okay I just watched the first episode of SG:U
It looks interesting but two big complaints:
The Stargate season premiere doesn't have the stargate travel effect?! Come on.
The second one is kind of a rant on how TV shows are being produced lately. I'm just not a fan of how shows are designed these days. I'll call it the 24 effect since the first show I noticed doing it was 24. One storyline gets about 20 minutes of airtime and 4 other ministories get 5 minute plot times. It's terribly annoying and gives the feeling that I'm getting less for my time invested. I don't want cliffhangers every show. I also don't need every single scene being filmed in shakycam. I doubt either of these will be fixed in later episodes so I'll learn to accept it but I really dislike it.
It was pretty awesome seeing the SG-1 team -Teal'c make an appearance for this.
