Silent Hill 8 Officially Named 'Silent Hill: Downpour'
by Xav de Matos, Jan 10, 2011 10:00am PSTWhile it would be easy to make bad jokes referencing the ill-fated, late 80's pop duo Milli Vanilli, news from Game Informer is no laughing matter. According to the magazine outlet, Silent Hill 8 has been officially named Silent Hill: Downpour.
Currently in development at Vatra Games in the Czech Republic, Silent Hill: Downpour was originally announced during E3 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While more details on the title will be hidden deep within the pages of Game Informer's February issue, the announcement trailer gives some indication of the goings on in the haunted, hillside town.
An escaped convict seeks refuge from his captors in the manacing town of Silent Hill. Clearly, he didn't read the town's "Welcome" sign closely, which explicitly states matter-of-factly: "Dude, turn the hell around and run."
