APB: Reloaded Closed Beta Planned for February
by Xav de Matos, Jan 04, 2011 11:00am PSTThe revival of APB will see another major milestone later this year, with the launch of a closed beta. According to the official Twitter account for the, now free-to-play, MMO from GamersFirst, a closed beta of APB: Reloaded will begin as soon as next month.
"If everything goes exactly like the plan, the Closed Beta will be launched somewhere in late February," a Tweet from January 3, 2011, revealed.
"Closed beta application details will be released next week," a recent Tweet noted, although the account later clarified it meant applications will be released "this week." Presumably, citizens of the original All Points Bulletin will get the first crack at returning to a life of crime or justice; however, the official site offers anyone to register for more details.
Reloaded Productions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of publisher GamersFirst, acquired the rights to APB from Realtime Worlds in November 2010, following Realtime's public downfall. The property's new owner revealed it would convert the title into a free-to-play MMO with an option to unlock more content at a premium.
