Evening Reading

Oh boy! It's 2011 and it's time for gaming to ramp up again before the summer slump. There are a lot of great games coming out early this year and I'm definitely looking forward to LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead Space 2, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. And that's just in the coming weeks!

Also, the first league of the 2011 GSL StarCraft II season has started with games already in the books and available as VODs. Access will cost you $10 with ads or $20 without.

  • Kane & Lynch 2

Just finished 5 minutes ago. It was fun and intense pretty much from the beginning, and you really get the sense that things have turned into a massive shitstorm with the swarms of bad dudes.

And then it ends. I'd read that Kane & Lynch 2 was short, but I didn't expect it to just cut off like that. Damn.

The cell-phone camera effect thing was pretty well done, it made the really heated firefights in the brightly lit streets feel like a clusterfuck, by making it difficult to focus with all the colour seperation and stuff going on.

Now I'm looking forward to a Kane & Lynch 3 (although I'm more looking forward to a Hitman 5).

I recommend anyone who's on the fence about playing the Kane & Lynch games go right ahead. The characters are cool enough to put up with the slightly janky shooting the Blood Money engine provides.
