Dragon Age 2 Trailer: PC Combat Walkthrough
by Alice O'Connor, Dec 17, 2010 8:00am PSTDragon Age II's lead designer Mike Laidlaw steps into the limelight in a new trailer with PC gameplay footage to illustrate two different approaches to combat in BioWare's fantasy RPG sequel--one he describes as "action-RPG" and the other "pause and play."
Dragon Age II is slated to launch for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 8, 2011. If you pre-order before January 11, 2011, you'll be upgraded to the BioWare Signature Edition for free, which packs an extra character, in-game items and the soundtrack.

I just hope the higher difficulty settings will genuinely incentivize you to play tactically. Pausing and micromanaging shouldn't be in there just for shits and giggles; it should actually have a purposeful function for the gameplay.

I had read a bunch of stuff about the combat and the game seemed far less interesting to me - this however seems awesome!
The only further concern I have is that you may reduce the ability to personalize characters by choosing cool skills and extra classes for them - that would be a shame. Here's your chance to put out a new video showing me not to worry!
