Operation Flashpoint: Red River Trailer Sets the Stage

Last week, Codemasters unveiled the first screenshots and a live-action trailer for its Operation Flashpoint: Red River. Today, there's new screenshots and the first in-game trailer. Hopefully, next time, we might get to see how the game actually plays and be spared any further strange and terrible voice-overs.

The trailer features a marine's poetic musings, setting the stage for the battlefield shooter sequel and the tense situation that's arisen in Tajikistan.

Developed internally at Codemasters, Operation Flashpoint: Red River is slated for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the first quarter of 2011. OFP creator Bohemia Interactive is uninvolved, working instead on its own military sim series, ARMA.

Yay, another crappy consolized PC port and a fairly sloppy console title overall. No thanks. Please, just don't bother Codemasters. Find something better to do with your talents than cranking out a half-hearted shooter full of fail (again).

eh...right well judging by codemasters history with just about any game I'll have to pass this one up. Though I will say that some of the scenes shown looked rather nice I am going to assume gameplay will fall short.

When the talking stops they better have dedicated server support for PC MP games, or else this will have a nonexistent MP community like Dragon Rising, and quickly fade off the gaming scene.

The game looks beautiful and I love the vastness of the world and the number of different weapons and vehicles they have. Unfortunately, I dislike the game's hardcore sim nature though I know it appeals to some.
