APB Property Acquired by GamersFirst; Relaunching As Free-to-Play in First Half of 2011
by Xav de Matos, Nov 16, 2010 11:55am PSTIt appears that, for the most part, the rumors were true: Today, Reloaded Productions Inc., a whollyowned subsidiary of publisher GamersFirst, announced it has acquired "all the Intellectual Property Rights" to RealTime Worlds' cops versus criminals MMORPG, APB: All Points Bulletin.
According to the press release announcing the acquisition, GamersFirst revealed it plans to re-launch the franchise in "the first half of 2011" as APB: Reloaded--a free-to-play, Unreal Engine 3-powered title, developed by Reloaded Productions Inc.
Less than three months after launching, developer Realtime Worlds closed down the servers for the online title. Today's announcement makes no mention of the rumored £1.5 million ($2.4M) price-tag that had been attached to the sale.

Not only did I pay 40€ for a game I hardly even got to play, but I was never reimbursed in any way, and now they want to relaunch the game for free?`
RealTime Worlds even made a good deal of money out of selling this game, that on top of them just sitting around on their asses laughing at all the hapless idiots that spent money buying their game, just makes me furious.
This bad excuse for a game belongs in one place and one place only, in the grave along with RealTime Worlds.
