Guillermo Del Toro's 'Lovecraftian' THQ game to be revealed during VGAs
by Xav de Matos, Nov 08, 2010 2:00pm PSTDuring his keynote that concluded the IGDA Leadership Forum, THQ's executive VP of core games Danny Bilson revealed fresh details on his company's upcoming project with director Guillermo del Toro.
"You've heard rumors of us working with a big film director who is actually a big gamer," Bilson told the crowd [via Joystiq], ignoring the fact that del Toro already announced the partnership in September. The new information Bilson did provide, however, was that the title of del Toro's project--along with the team developing the game--will be revealed "on the [Spike] VGA awards" next month.
Initial speculation during the THQ Montreal grand opening was that the publisher's new development house would also handle the del Toro project, along with a new game from former Assassin's Creed creative director Patrice Désilets.
When describing his video game project during the Septemeber slip-up, del Toro called it as "a really big, revolutionary, very difficult game that I've been trying to do for the last three or four years now." The director of Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy also referred to the title as "Lovecraftian" in nature. Nerd heads esplode.

His joint project with Spielberg got shitcanned and he hasn't done an actually solid game since...Thief? What a waste of talent.
