Evening Reading: My Friends Are Game Dev Story Obsessed

Well the games of fall are really pouring in now. Fallout: New Vegas this week, Fable 3 and Rock Band 3 next, and the Kinect launch and Black Ops right around the corner. Add in all the assorted others and it's easy to get completely inundated. Yet over the weekend it seemed like all I heard people talking about was Game Dev Story for the iPhone/iPod.

I'm don't know if this has been discussed already, but Steve Jobs went pretty all-out on Apple's earnings call. I agree with him though, 7" tablets seem pointless.

"We've now passed RIM [which sold 12.1m phones in the comparable quarter], and I don't see them catching up with us. It's going to be a challenge for them to become a competitive platform and to persuade developers to develop for a third platform after iOS and Android."

He also forecast that would-be rivals to Apple's iPad tablet computer would struggle to make a mark because many were offering screens only 7" diagonally â€“ "which is only 45% of the area of the iPad," Jobs said. "We think these 7" tablets will be DOA â€“ dead on arrival. They'll learn the painful lesson that they're too small and have to expand them next year.

      Forgot to mention, on my 32gb sticks, I dont have to use Apple's piece of shit Itunes software that is almost as bad as Adobe Reader in its bloat, sluggishness, and awful interface.
