New Trine 2 Teaser Trailer and Details Revealed
by Brian Leahy, Oct 11, 2010 3:40pm PDTTrine 2, which was announced at E3 2010, will be released in the spring of 2011 and feature three-player, online and offline co-op. More details have been revealed by developer Frozenbyte at 1UP, along with a new teaser trailer.
Lauri Hyvarinen, CEO of Frozenbyte, spoke with 1UP about the game, and revealed a nice chunk of additional information about the game. The Knight, The Thief, and The Wizard will all return and "a bit more color and depth" to their personalities. Additionally, "all three characters have some new abilities, and some old abilities are present in new ways."
When asked about a portable version of Trine, Hyvarinen explained that Trine and Trine 2 require a lot of processing power. It wouldn't be a simple port. The company is not currently considering a Wii or PSP version of Trine or Trine 2.
The new teaser trailer can be seen below.

I'd have to agree on the high demands of Trine; it's not really high poly, but there's a lot of texture detail that would probably have a high texture memory requirement. The original Trine was only on PC and PSN; I don't know if the texture details were turned down to fit onto the PS3's 256 MB of texture memory, but the PC version looks very nice and detailed.
