Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D Blasting Onto 3DS
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 29, 2010 8:15am PDTThe Resident Evil series' time trial mode 'Mercenaries' is being spun off into its own game for the 3DS, Capcom revealed today at the Nintendo Conference 2010 in Japan.
Boasting online co-op, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will recreate Mercenaries missions from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. The timed mode involves rampaging through small arenas while blasting through as many zombies as possible.
RE: The Mercenaries 3D "will add brand new modes and well known characters from the series to enrich and extend the Mercenaries experience," Capcom said.
Capcom has yet to reveal a release date. The Nintendo 3DS, which boasts a glasses-free 3D screen, is due in March 2011. A conventional Resident Evil adventure is also in the works for the 3DS, dubbed Resident Evil: Revelations.
