Minecraft Currently Free-to-Play, Fan-Made Trailer is Awesome [Updated]

By Brian Leahy, Sep 20, 2010 3:40pm PDT [Update 6PM]: Due to load problems with the Minecraft servers, the game's developer is currently unable to process new account registrations or verify online players. For now, the game is completely free to play and can be downloaded from the official site.

If you're interested in what all the fuss is about, this is your chance to check it out for no cost. [Thanks, Haxim]

[Original Story] This fan-made trailer for the indie game Minecraft does a better job explaining the game than I ever could.

The lone developer behind the game recently added a second employee to his company and is accepting additional job applications. The game, still in development, has been purchased many times over and a good amount of Shacknews community members are enjoying the game.

I gave it a try and while it isn't something that appeals to me, I can see why so many are enthralled by its take on collaborative building.
