In a double-dose of Warhammer 40,000 asset awesomeness today. It's time to look at Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millenium Online with new screenshots and a trailer from Gamescom 2010.

Vigil, the studio behind Darksiders, is hard at work on the game along with Darksiders 2. Both games are scheduled for release between April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012.

  • Looking pretty good actually. The graphics are decent by mmorpg standards. Animations look great. Odd move for them to be using a cutscene taken right out of Dawn of War 2 though, and some of those camera angles made it looks very similar.

I'd like to know how instanced the game is. Lots of games have been released that claimed to be mmorpgs, yet they're instanced to the max. I don't have a problem with this sort of game but it's pretty misleading to call them mmorpgs, which in my mind implies a huge and relatively seamless world. Heavily instanced mmos really deserve their own separate category.
