Evening Reading

Wandering around the BYOC last night, I definitely did not see enough StarCraft II being played. The big games at the show appear to be Quake Live, Modern Warfare 2, Team Fortress 2, Alien Swarm, and Counter-Strike: Source. There's also a little fighting game section with some consoles for Super Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift.

I finally got a chance to play Brink here today at the show and it instantly landed itself a spot on the list of my most anticipated games of 2011!

Be sure to read all of our QuakeCon 2010 coverage which will continue into the weekend.

Anyone using any custom music players for their Android phone?

I tried a few but I actually liked the default player best because it integrates with the lock screen. I saw very few other players that did this.

On my Hero, the default's pretty shitty. Slow, unresponsive, sometimes it stops if I use the lock screen to control it. I guess it's just my phone then if it works well for you.

Man it's lame that it doesn't integrate with the security pattern lock screen though.

I think he has a galaxy S phone and samsung modified the music player to work on the lock screen. HTC does the same with their android phones running Sense.

Oh my apologies, I should have been more specific:

I have a Samsung Galaxy S on AT&T. There is a default app that came with is called "Music Player". It has a pretty nice interface and integrate with the lock screen in a way that I can pause, play or skip songs without having to unlock my phone. Most of the other media players I tried did not have that and it is kind of a deal breaker for me.

Oh and I forgot to ask if anyone has had any luck with a good FM transmitter for their Galaxy S. Before you tell me they suck and not to use them realize it's for an old work truck that doesn't even have a tape deck let alone a headphone jack.
