Fable 3 Won't Have Kinect Functionality at Launch
by Xav de Matos, Aug 05, 2010 7:00am PDTDuring a taping of The Engadget Show, Microsoft's Peter Molyneux revealed that Fable 3 will not ship with any Kinect functionality. Although, since nearly the announcement of the new hardware, Microsoft representatives had stated that the motion-sensing camera would have a role in the upcoming sequel, Molyneux told Joystiq that the content Lionhead planned to create for the peripheral wasn't up to snuff.
Speaking with Joystiq, Molyneux claims some form of Kinect-enabled content may be available following the launch of Fable 3.
Fable 3 launches on the Xbox 360 on October 26. A PC version is planned but has not been dated.

Patch it and forget it, only no one will be playing it anymore by the time it gets patched.

Yeah, I know you have to say, "Xbox" or whatever at the beginning. Point is, you can't use the camera part for controlling content while sitting (at least not during the demos at E3).
Meanwhile, Sony'll have patched support for PS3 Move into one of its best games out this year (Heavy Rain) that really begged for Move support because it seemed built for it. RE5's Move support will make it play a lot like the outright loved Wii version of RE4.
Now Molyneux saying they could add in some kind of support later is basically him saying it was cut and it ain't coming back. Having enjoyed the "Molyneux Experience" in Black and White, B&W2, Fable, and Fable 2, I don't expect anything great from Fable III anyway. He's all promise, no delivery anymore. All he's got is his name nowadays.
He's still got a long way to go to gain my respect though. I only played Populous: The Beginning back then (which was just 'ok') so I don't have the pre-established fan loyalty he gained when his studio made great PC games, hence all I see of him is the lying corporate windbag Microsoft turned him into.
