Street Fighter and Tekken Cross-overs Announced
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 26, 2010 12:40pm PDTTekken and Street Fighter will collide in a pair of cross-over fighting games developed separately by the series' creators Namco Bandai and Capcom, it was announced at Comic-Con 2010.
Capcom unveiled its part of the cross-over, Street Fighter X Tekken, with a cinematic and a round of screenshots showing Tekken fighters brought into the side-on, faux-2D world of Street Fighter IV. Capcom did not announce when the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 fighter will be released.
Namco Bandai has yet to reveal its own Tekken X Street Fighter, which "will feature 'Street Fighter' characters bringing the fight to the 'Tekken' world." Hitting unconfirmed platforms at an unknown time, it'll presumably be a 3D affair in the Tekken mould.

Fighting fans are a special breed of gamer: I'm sure the truly hardcore will snatch up both games. But I don't think the mainstream audience, even those who are a fan of both series, will want to buy two full-priced games (I'm assuming they'll be around $60 each) just because each features one gameplay style and not the other.
