Decide Carmine's Fate in Gears of War 3 for Charity
by Xav de Matos, Jul 21, 2010 4:00pm PDTGears of War 3 fans have the opportunity to decide the fate of Clayton Carmine, the third brother in the luckless clan who lost two family members in previous Gears of War titles. Beginning July 29, Xbox 360 owners can purchase one of two Avatar t-shirts, one branded "Save Carmine" the other with the harrowing phrase "Carmine Must Die." Based on purchases, the Carmine brother's fate will be decided in the single player campaign of Gears of War 3, launching on the Xbox 360 on April 5, 2011.
All proceeds of the Avatar Marketplace purchases will go to the Child's Play Charity, which benefits sick children. Additionally, NECA will be offering real-life versions of the Avatar Marketplace gear during the San Diego Comic-Con for $20, which will also act as votes in the "Life or Death Poll."
Those attending the San Diego Comic-Con also have an opportunity to get a Gears of War 3 Comic-Con-exclusive poster signed by Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski, executive producer Rod Fergusson, and lead writer Karen Traviss at the Xbox booth on July 24 at noon (PT).
