Mafia 2 Dev Diary Showcases "Empire Bay"
by Xav de Matos, Jul 06, 2010 9:15am PDTOn Friday, 2K Czech released a developer diary video that went behind the scenes of its upcoming open-world "Cosa Nostra" sim, Mafia II. The primary focus of the video is the detail that went behind creating Empire Bay, the city Mafia II takes place in. Covering "10 square miles," Empire Bay is "roughly" twice the size of the city featured in the original title in series.
Throughout the course of the game, players will watch the city evolve from from a bleak post-World War II 1940s to a booming 1950s. Of course, a bigger city means more hiding spots for all the bodies players are sure to compile in an attempt to rise to power.Mafia II is scheduled to hit the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on August 24, 2010.

I knew right then and there the game would be lame.
I don't care about passing cars, people going about their business, NOTHING other protagonist and game mechanics.
Everything else is non-sense.
Unless you can interact with this environment in a way other than going up to them a pressing a button, who gives a shit?
I'll be either driving too fast or on a mission and wont have time to see little Johnny sitting there skipping stones.
I've had this game pre-ordered so long It takes me like a half hour to find it on Amazon, I hope they don't fucking let me down.
