BioShock 2 Singleplayer DLC Announced
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 01, 2010 5:40am PDTHaving already released several batches of multiplayer downloadable content for BioShock 2, publisher 2K Games today announced the first of multiple singleplayer DLC packs for 2K Marin's subaqueous shooter sequel.
Based upon the not-altogether-popular harvesting sections of the singleplayer campaign, the 'Protector Trials' pack will charge Big Daddies with keeping their Little Sister "safe from the intense onslaught of Splicers as she gathers ADAM from corpses."
Toting three difficulty settings to choose from, the action takes place in six new maps "based on favorite locales from BioShock 2." It also offers new unlockables "including never-before-seen concept art and video" plus seven new achievements.
The Protector Trials DLC will be released "starting August 3" for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, priced at $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points). The earlier 'Rapture Metro' DLC, at least, hit PC two weeks after consoles. We've contacted 2K for clarification.
"This is just the beginning," says 2K president Christoph Hartmann. "More single-player content is on the way that will deliver more... intense action and story-driven gameplay."
