Aliens vs. Predator DLC Map Pack Goes on a Bughunt

Aliens vs. Predator will pick up four all-new battlegrounds this July in a second paid downloadable content map pack, publisher Sega has announced, titled 'Bughunt.'

Due out on July 7 at $6.99 (560 Microsoft Points) for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the Bughunt pack contains two new maps for AvP's standard multiplayer modes then another two for the 'Survival' mode. Sega boasts that "for the first time, these maps will include environmental hazards and new weather effects."

If you don't own AvP but you do have a DirectX 11 graphics card and fancy seeing a swarming horde of xenomorphs, check out the spiffy AvP DX11 benchmark test.

I imagine if they slashed the price of the full game to $14.99 on Steam they'd drive a sales surge and maybe get a few bites at this map pack, but noooo, keep it at $50 and just cross your fingers hoping you'll sell enough to make your money back someday.

I really liked the game but the MP lacked a lot. What a self fulfilling prophecy the AvP's MP fail was hehe. They didn't invest much into it, knowing the players wouldn't play the shit out of it. Damn, I'd do exactly that if I was in their shoes, but still - it sucks :)

I just find it hilarious that some people bought the shit that the devs were spewing about the PC version before the game was released. Gullible, little simpletons. How does it feel to waste $50 on a piss poor console port? Thank the spaghetti monster for the demo.

I am one of the few people who liked AvP, and i don't understand this. The multiplayer is dead (or almost dead) already, what's the point of a map pack now?
