Evening Reading
by Brian Leahy, Jun 23, 2010 5:00pm PDTWith E3 settling down, I finally got a chance to finish Red Dead Redemption last night. Loved the ending. Very cool and true to the Western genre. Then I played some League of Legends, because unlike Heroes of Newerth, I can actually get kills in LoL. Both are incredibly fun DotA games, but LoL is a bit more forgiving. Hopefully, one day I'll graduate to HoN.

I think i've been spoiled by recent games like Bad Company 2, Alpha Protocol, ME2 and MW2 with their blinking lights and indicators for every little thing. It's truly refreshing to play a game that (for a lack of a better phrase) hates me.
I have no idea if I'm sneaking past this guard undetected, and I LOVE IT.
I love that there are bunch of ways into this stronghold, and that you only tell me about a couple possible approaches. It reminds me of playing Hitman over and over just to see if taking a left down that corridor would work better than stabbing all those bystanders.
I also appreciate having the option to get bored of crouching and just sprint right up to everyone and shoot them in the face.
I can't believe I've let this sit on my shelf for half a decade.
