Nintendo Unveils Zelda: Skyward Sword
by Chris Faylor, Jun 15, 2010 9:05am PDTThe latest Wii entry in Nintendo's beloved series The Legend of Zelda is subtitled "Skyward Sword" and will utilize Wii MotionPlus and is due to release in 2011, the company revealed today at the start of its E3 2010 Press Briefing.
The Wii Remote (and its Wii MotionPlus add-on) are used to control the sword in-game, while players use the Nunchuk to control their shield.
"Just imagine that you're using a sword and shield yourself," explained series creator Shigeru Miyamoto, with Nintendo noting the game features 1:1 sword control.
As it traditional for the series, players will also have access to a variety of other items, including a bow, slingshot and bombs, with players literally using the console's motion-sensing capabilities to toss bombs, control an airborne beetle, and, yes, whip.
