Ubisoft Unveils Driver: San Francisco
by Brian Leahy, Jun 14, 2010 6:48pm PDTTeased last week, Ubisoft has officially revealed Driver: San Francisco, which sees series protagonist John Tanner put into a coma following a nasty accident on the Golden Gate bridge.
Here is last week's teaser:
"Gamers will play as Detective John Tanner on a relentless manhunt for crime lord Charles Jericho through the hills of the City by the Bay," explains the press release. "Thanks to a groundbreaking gameplay feature, players can now seamlessly 'shift' between well over a hundred licensed vehicles, keeping them constantly in the heart of the action."
The game takes place in Tanner's mind and will allow him to perform these "shift" moves. He doesn't realize he is in a coma, however, and just thinks he has developed a new magical ability, or something.
Driver: San Francisco will be released in Q4 this year, but the listed platforms are PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The Wii logo was seen in the press conference artwork, but is not in the press release. Shacknews has asked Ubisoft for clarification on this.
