The very first trailer for XCOM--the "re-imagining" of the strategy series as a "mystery-filled first-person shooter" by developer 2K Marin--has arrived, just in time for E3 2010.

Coming to PC and Xbox 360, XCOM is slated to arrive in 2011.

This is terrible.

50's setting is terrible
Alien design is terrible
Gameplay so far looks terrible.

Fallout 3 imo,
successfully took a turn-based game, and turned it into a successful FPS.

I'm hoping this pulls that off somehow. But so far... I'm not impressed, and I wish they wouldn't tarnish the already tarnished XCOM brand name.

      They really needed the first trailer to focus on elements that would show that it's an X-com game. All I'm seeing here is a straight-up FPS, albeit one that I'll be checking out. I just want to see the reason they think they can brand it an X-com game, other than to cash in on the IP.
