"God is a dream of good government" is a cool line for a video game, it deftly draws a line in common between the paternalistic, judging nature of the lord with the technologies we use to rule and shape our own lives in hopes of attaining that sort of perfect moral ideal.
On the other hand, gratuitous references to a Rembrant and a Greek myth come off to me as nothing more than "hey guys, guess who had a liberal arts education? it was us!"
