Free-to-Play FIFA Online Enters Open Beta on PC
by Chris Faylor, Jun 04, 2010 9:30am PDTJust in time for the World Cup, Electronic Arts has announced that its free-to-play PC soccer game FIFA Online "is available to soccer fans everywhere around the world."
In actuality, the game quietly entered open beta--meaning anyone can register and then play--on May 26, but the company didn't issue a press release to that effect until today.
"Register at fifa-online.easports.com and compete in the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa tournament mode and score the goal that lifts your nation to FIFA World Cup glory," says Electronic Arts. "Compete by yourself or online with friends in an authentic re-creation or a fantasy version of the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament."
Just yesterday, the company announced the results of its 2010 FIFA World Cup simulation, predicting that Spain will best Brazil in the final match by 3-1.
