Free-to-Play Company of Heroes Invading America
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 03, 2010 7:21am PDTCompany of Heroes Online, a free-to-play version of Relic's World War 2 real-time strategy Company of Heroes originally made for asian markets, will be launching in North America on PC this fall, publisher THQ announced today.
"Specialization, commander customization, and persistent progression" are promised, with optional microtransactions letting players choose to purchase upgrades and "special units" rather then earning them in the blood and muck and mire and misery of battle.
Six divisions are featured, "from the brutal German Blitzkrieg to the deadly efficient Allied Airborne, each with its own combat style and unique Commander Abilities."
