THQ Unveils 'THQ Partners' Publishing Scheme
by Alice O'Connor, May 26, 2010 6:56am PDTDeveloper and publisher THQ today announced 'THQ Partners,' opening up its "global retail and online publishing network" to "select" external developers and publishers.
"THQ Partners is charged with maximizing the efficiencies of our global distribution network by enhancing our product offerings with quality games from developers and publishers who don’t have the benefit of our extensive retail and online sales operations," said THQ Global Publishing executive VP Ian Curran in the announcement.
The scheme is similar to Electronic Arts' EA Partners scheme, which is used by such prolific studios as Left 4 Dead 2 developer Valve Software and the Call of Duty veterans at Respawn Entertainment as well as small indies like Shank developer Klei.
