Ubisoft Toronto Developing Next Splinter Cell, Additional Game
by Brian Leahy, May 25, 2010 11:00am PDTThe next Splinter Cell game, built upon the Conviction game engine, will be produced by Ubisoft Toronto, the studio led by Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond. The studio announced this project through Gamasutra (via Joystiq) as well as an additional "triple-A" game in collaboration with Ubisoft Montreal.
Alexandre Parizeau, producer on Splinter Cell: Conviction, has joined the team at Ubisoft Toronto to assist with the project. Using funding from Ubisoft and the Ontario government, Ubisoft Toronto will be able to jump right into triple-A development instead of start-up with "small projects, [for] Nintendo DS or portables," according to Raymond.
Splinter Cell: Conviction was released in March for the Xbox 360 and PC. No time frame is given to either project.
