Front Mission Evolved Trailer Talks Preparation

By Chris Faylor, May 24, 2010 11:40am PDT With developer Double Helix in the midst of crafting Front Mission Evolved--a real-time action-centric spin-off of Square Enix's traditionally turn-based strategy series--a new trailer has arrived in which both companies discuss the upcoming mech action game.

At last official word, Front Mission Evolved was slated to hit PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during "Spring 2010," though retailers are now listing it for release on June 30.

  • I think there is definitely a lot of room in the mech combat area. There have been some games in the genre... but not a lot of very good ones. A carefully built mech(a) combat game with a perfect balance between strategy/simulation and excellent action/impressive graphics could be a truly AAA title. I personally haven't really enjoyed one of these games since Mech Warrior I think. (I have especially fond memories of the Battletech Center in Chicago actually... that place was a giant robot fans wet dream).

    I guess I'll have to keep an eye on this one.
