Report: Heavy Rain Movie Deal Almost Done
by Brian Leahy, May 19, 2010 7:00pm PDTDeadline.com (via Kotaku) is reporting that Unique Features is near closing a deal to purchase the film rights to Quantic Dreams' PlayStation 3 game Heavy Rain.
The game's cinematic storytelling and use of real actors makes it an easy choice for film adaptation. An auction for the rights was set up by Hollywood talent agency CAA on behalf of Quantic Dream.
This does not guarantee that a movie will ever come to be or even what form it would take, but it is the first step in the process. Personally, I wonder how much of the magic of Heavy Rain would be preserved in a non-interactive medium
