Capcom Developing "Mega Man Online" with Neowiz
by Brian Leahy, May 10, 2010 1:40pm PDTBuried within Capcom's 2011 fiscal plans, is a curious line pertaining to the company's online game business:
- "Joint development of 'Mega Man Online' with Neowiz Games Corporation of Korea"
Last month, a patent filing made by Capcom was discovered, which referred to a game titled Mega Man Universe. It would appear likely that this is the title being developed with Neowiz.
Neowiz is a South Korean company behind many popular online PC games in Asia, including Battlefield Online, an enhanced version of Battlefield 2 currently in open-beta. One of its divisions, Pentavision, is responsible for the DJMAX games on PC and PSP.
The Asian PC audience for online games is growing and many companies are targeting it as an area for potential growth.
