Second Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack Due After June
by Chris Faylor, May 06, 2010 5:30pm PDTThe second downloadable add-on for Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently planned to arrive in the second half of this year--meaning it'll hit sometime between July 1 and December 31, 2010--publisher Activision has revealed.
While discussing the company's lineup for the "back half of the year" during today's investor conference call, Activision Blizzard COO Thomas Tippl noted that is when "we plan to release the second map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2."
The game's first add-on, dubbed the "Stimulus Package," debuted on Xbox 360 in March 2010 before hitting PC and PlayStation 3 in May 2010, offering five additional multiplayer maps in exchange for $15. As with the first, the second add-on will be available to Xbox 360 owners first before eventually making its way to PC and PlayStation 3.
Pricing for the second add-on has not been revealed, though Tippl noted that "the $15 price point has still provided a fantastic value to gamers... we think that has worked."
The next all-new Call of Duty, meanwhile, arrives November 9 in the form of Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is coming from Call of Duty: World at War developer Treyarch.

"yeah, thank u. i am a stupid customer, i buy everything without thinking. i do not give a crap about beeing punked by the publisher or the developers"
and it's even more a shame, that severel thousand people really did buy that dlc.
to put it in the calm words of the "angry videogame nerd" : what were they thinking?!
or why could a person like Tippl could step up and offend us again with his statement? it's a pure slap in the face of any serious gamer. but the cow (us, the player) will be stupid enough to be milked again and again.
but i tell you something: search for another cow, i am definitely through of beeing a "stupid" customer!
And, atop that; well designed maps. The maps from the DLC are allright at best. They don't have near enough hidey-holes and cool spots to find. Their design also leaves out a lot of terrain that should be usable (the tubes in scrapyard is a good example of what I'm talking about...why can you not climb more in them?). And downpour was just trash. Utter, and complete, trash.
I know my clannies are going to buy the new pack when it comes out. And unless they give it glowing reviews, I'm going to abstain. It if ends up making the game unplayable, then I guess I'll go back to playing Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (free game, open source, dedicated servers, 60+ per server, thousands of great user maps, etc...)

No more Call of Duty game for me or (ex) Infinity Ward game for that matter considering how they totally neglected these major problems. Not being able to choose what map I wanna play is just... wow. The useless crappy lobby is just shit thrown in your face and I'm not one of those who forgets and buys their next game, I got better things to do than being ripped off again.
