Sony Launches Facebook Game for The Agency MMO
by Brian Leahy, May 04, 2010 8:00pm PDTWhile development on Sony Online Entertainment's PlayStation 3 MMORPG The Agency has been relatively quiet, the company has launched a Facebook game within the game's universe - The Agency: Covert Ops.
Revealed through Mashable, the game is a standard "mafia wars"-type affair that has players building up an avatar and equipping it with new weapons and improvements for some asynchronous combat, minigames, headquarters management and more.
A trailer for the game has also been released:
"While the team can't divulge too many details just yet about how exactly the Facebook-flavored counterpart of The Agency will tie back into the console and PC MMO still on the way," Mashable explains. "You should expect the advancements and achievements you make in Covert Ops to benefit your gameplay in the action title and vice versa."
The PlayStation 3 version of the game is still in development, but no new information is available about its release date or status.
