Sony Launching 3D TVs With Free 3D PS3 Games

Sony has announced that it will launch its first 'Bravia 3D' stereoscopic 3D television set in June with four free 3D downloadable PlayStation 3 games, in Europe at least.

Consumers who purchase the Sony Bravia 3D HX800 launch model or later Bravia 3D TVs will score free copies Wipeout HD, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, PAIN and Super Stardust HD for download from the PlayStation Network, with full free stereoscopic 3D trimmings.

Wipeout HD and MotorStorm Pacific Rift in plain, boring, stupid, rubbish old 2D.

Similar to the technology used in Avatar and other recent 3D movies, Sony's Bravia 3D televisions display two images taken from slightly different angles that are filtered by stylish 3D glasses to create the illusion of three dimensional space.

There's no word yet on whether this offer will also come to North America. Presumably other brands of 3D-enabled TV will work with the games, if you fork out for them yourself.
