Evening Reading: FPS Fever!

This morning, Take-Two announced that 2K Marin is developing an FPS game based upon X-COM. The outrage was palpable.

I'm willing to give 2K Marin a chance here. I'm sure this is a move meant to echo Bethesda's work with the Fallout franchise, which led to the creation of Fallout 3.

Personally, I'm a much bigger fan of Todd Howard and Bethesda's work than 2K Marin's, but we'll see what the studio can cook up.

so I'm reading about ZFS and just drooling over all the features http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZFS

are there any awesome filesystems that are nearing 'stable' that can do a lot of the ZFS stuff? all I ever use is ext3 (well, I guess 4 is out now)

  it was coming to OS X but those plans got scrapped, they must be working now on a similar file system, perhaps for 10.7
