Gears of War 3 Due in April 2011, Ad Reveals

I'm a bit surprised how much hate Gears of War gets around here. I played through both games and thought they were both very solid, very fun games with impressive graphics, nice environments, fun shooting mechanics and EXCELLENT co-op modes. I never really go into multiplayer too much on a console... but Horde mode in GoW2 (which will always be 'Invasion' in my mind) was a hell of a lot of fun too. Yeah it sucks the Epic kind of ditched the PC for console but they also enjoy sticking around as a company, keeping their employees (while paying them) and making very good games. They are.. after all.. running a business. It's not like these games are shovelware.. an obviously huge amount of work has gone into both of them and they both offer very good experiences.

At what point in time did gamers start hating good games? When did gamers care less about good games and more about PC vs. Console. The whole thing is getting very tiring. I took a break from the Shack for a year and when I came back I was surprised that the place seems to have been taken over by console hating whiners. I've been playing PC games since the day Ultima 6 came out (because it was the first one I couldn't play on an Apple IIe) and I'd consider myself a PC gamer... but I've had a lot of fun with my Xbox 360 the past few years. And just because a game is made to suit the console doesn't mean it's completely dumbed down and worthless. Oblivion and Fallout 3 are two extremely deep and lengthy RPG's (both which sold very well) I honestly don't think either one suffered much by being somewhat console focused (or would have been much different if they were PC exclusives). I'm just sick of the whole thing.. I don't even know why I'm commenting about it. You all come across as whiney little spoiled brats.

Honestly I'm kind of over the Gears franchise at this point. I loved the first one and put a ton of time into the multiplayer and single player. The only problem I had with it was that finding good matches with friends in mp was almost impossible, and playing the same single player missions over and over got really old. The second one fixed the single player issue by adding horde, which has basically infinite replay value for me. The mp had too many issues and I got over it pretty quickly, but my friends and I still go back and play Horde once in a while.

So with that I don't really know what else they can introduce to the franchise that would make me run out and buy the third one immediately. It will have to have some major core improvements or something because otherwise I'm fine just playing Horde to my heart's content. I'm sure I'll end up playing through it but I don't know if I'll be running out to buy it day 1 like the last 2.

No offense but I really can't stand the MP aspect of the game. I usually play the SP and some horde mode.. but this isn't a must buy for me.

Lost all interest in this franchise at this point. I played through all of the first one and it was pretty sweet. MP wasn't bad, but not that great. Bought the second one, played it for less than an hour and got bored, shut it off, and never touched it again, probably because GoW2 was exactly the same as GoW1, except with new guns and enemies woohoo..huge waste of money for me.

I know people are all over this game, but I really found the art direction to be very annoying. It's so detailed that it's hard to focus and distinguish various points of interest from others. I'm sure this will be true for GoW3, but...I really hope it fades away from Epic's style in future games.

Oh, great. I hope we get to hear Clifford shit all over PC gaming in every interview again, whether it's relevant to the discussion or not. Epic PR should've kept him in his cage.

In the screenshot with the gears of war logo with the skull, it mentions epic story.... I do not remember anything epic about the story. It was average at best.
