Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Game

An interactive rendition of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies--the "expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel" by Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter author Seth Grahame-Smith--is due on iPhone and iPod touch soon, developer Freeverse has revealed. "A rollicking action title with the perfect blend of zombie slaying action and touching romance narrative," explains Freeverse, "the official Pride and Prejudice and Zombies game will be available on the iTunes App Store by April 2010." Pricing was not revealed.

The book, released in April 2009, "transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read," according to its back cover. Despite the undead addition, Grahame-Smith's rewrite remains surprisingly true to Austen's original--the overall story remains the same, just with a bit more zombie-killing action--and has proved so popular as to inspire an entire line of such rewrites (Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, Android Karenina) along with the possibility of a theatrical feature film.

My wife bought me this book, she is a HUGE Austin fangirl. I am actually reading it right now. It's not bad. I don't mind it because the way people speak in these period pieces always makes me laugh. Plus zombies = win, no?

I couldn't get more than 40 pages without dozing off. Hope the game is better than the book.
