With the PC release of Lead and Gold fast approaching, developer Fatshark has rustled up a trailer showing off the wild west shooter's Trapper class and several new screenshots.

Lead and Gold - Gangs of the Wild West will be released for PC on April 8 for $15 but pre-ordering on Steam will net you varmints a 10% discount as well as instant access to the ongoing beta. If you require more encouragement, see what our yellow-bellied, lizard-lickin' Brian thought of the game.

Downloadable Xbox 360 and PlayStation releases are also due soon.

It's not often that you see a game that is this well made being sold for this cheap. If you like multiplayer shooters then you should just cough up the $15. It's good, it's fun, and it's cheap.

Did you play it yet? Or just judging from media?

Only 3 classes and the cheap price sounds a like it could get boring fast.

the number of classes is hardly a good thing to judge the game on. I mean, BC2 "only" has 4 classes as well...

I bought it a few days ago. It's fun. It's not the best game of the year but it's damn fun and that's good enough for me. Plus it has a couple of cool ideas. The auras that each class give off encourage team work plus the flag that you can pick up at your base becomes a mobile spawn point for your team.

I agree. To pile onto your comments I love the visual style and the maps seem to be well made. Lots of height and secret ways to crawl around.

I also enjoy that most of the modes are objective based, which I find immensely more satisfying than death match.

        It's a great game, I know I'll play it for a while.
