Front Mission Evolved Screens Show Mech Mayhem

Square Enix has released a handful of new screenshots for developer Double Helix's Front Mission Evolved, a game which will eschew the series' traditionally turn-based strategic mech-battles for a more action-based experience.

Based on the smog-scapes, it's not likely these mechs are hybrids.

Players can look forward to strapping themselves into one of these giant mechs, called "WANZERS," when Front Mission Evolved heads to the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 this Spring.

What I don't understand is why Squeenix totally changed this game from turn-based strategy to yet another lame action title. Seriously, don't we have enough of those? The unusual genre is what made this series so different and appreciated. I can't think of any other turn-based mech strategy games.
Would it be so hard to translate Front Mission 5 to Engrish?

WTF??? I've been waiting for an FM game to come out in Europe since FM3, which was one of the best PS1 games, and they come out with some real-time action shooter???

Just take FM3, upgrade the graphics, then release in Europe. Thanks.

Well, Square has an existing relationship with them and they already have a relationship with other Japanese developers like Konami.

Could Double Helix be the studio that Square Enix transferred their Final Fantasy XII action-RPG project to?
