Deus Ex 3 Trailer Introduces Human Revolution
by Alice O'Connor, Mar 12, 2010 5:40am PSTDeus Ex 3 is now officially named Deus Ex: Human Revolution, developer Eidos Montreal revealed during GDC yesterday with a swish new cinematic trailer.
The trailer--created with Square Enix--revels in the prequel's cyberpunk and Renaissance themes and gives a look at some swish augmentations and tech.
There's still no word of a release date for Deus Ex: Human Revolution--originally due in late 2009--or confirmation of platforms beyond PC, though PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions are expected. We might find out in June, as more details are promised at E3.

That said, I think I like where they're going. One of the more interesting themes in DX was the tension between Denton, who was nano-augmented and indistinguishable from a pure human, and the old mechanically augmented agents, who basically volunteered to be chopped up and horribly disfigured in order to bust terrorism. Seems like we might be seeing more of that.

Please Square Enix, don't fuck up with the gameplay. Let the Montreal guys make a worthy successor to the Deus Ex title.

This trailer is pretty awesome. Makes me think of Neal Stephenson and William Gibson.

Now, I need some gameplay footage.
Hopefully, in the gameplay department and user interface dept., DX:HR will be more like the original Deus Ex and less like its inferior Invisible War sequel.
Let's hope it doesn't disappoint like DX: IW did. Honestly, I think if someone made a mod to have enemies drop specific bullets for specific guns instead of that unified ammo crap, that would be a step in the right direction to basically FIX the DX:IW game.
As for the game, still waiting on gameplay footage before I have an impression.

But it ain't gameplay. Invisible War's intro was awesome as all hell, didn't help.
