Medal of Honor Screenshots Go Dark

Having already offered us a glimpse of the light, publisher Electronic Arts now takes us into the dark with the second batch of screenshots from the upcoming Medal of Honor.

Bringing the long-running World War II shooter series into the modern-day, Medal of Honor hits PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime between July 1 and September 30, 2010. The single-player portion is being developed in a "heavily-modified Unreal 3 engine" by franchise veterans EALA, while Battlefield developer DICE is crafting the multiplayer portion with the Frostbite technology used in Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Personally the time frame for a shooter doesn't makes a whole of difference to me, it is hard to find one everyone will agree one. However, I don't think the world needs another modern shooter at this time, the niche is full of solid games and people aren't going to want to buy more of the same, I know I don't. Even IF it is really good most people who would be interested already have MW2/BF:BC2. Just not the time.

Im sorry, but it's been how many years since the last medal of honor came out? The series is just too old for it's own good imo. Plus, another modern day shooter?

Hopefully the single-player will be something beyond the same old MoH/CoD formula, because with the multiplayer being developed by DICE on Frostbite, I'm not holding out much hope of the multiplayer not being something just like Bad Company 2 or Modern Warfare, since the leveling/perks/classes fad is all the rage in PC MP FPSes these days, aside from Left 4 Dead / L4D2.

Then again, I shouldn't even be thinking of this game prior to seeing a solid gameplay video three weeks before release. It seems like these days, most of the bad details of games get hidden until three weeks before release.
