What happens when you reboot an open-world franchise with an eye towards "classic Hollywood and Asian cinema style action thrillers" and a new developer? True Crime.

Coming from ModNation Racers developer United Front, True Crime and its tale of an undercover cop in Hong Kong is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall.

As for Luxoflux--which handled the first two entries, 2003's True Crime: Streets of LA and 2005's True Crime: New York City--owner Activision recently closed the studio.

I worked at EB when the first True Crime came out. There was a promotional DVD with a rap song on it, the lyrics of which were "True Crime: The Streets of LA. Activision."
