Halo: Reach Trailer Shows Alpha Multiplayer Fragfest
by Alice O'Connor, Mar 03, 2010 7:15am PSTBungie has released a new Halo: Reach trailer giving an early look at what awaits players in the Xbox 360 exclusive's multiplayer beta--which is slated to begin on May 3--with ninety seconds of thrills, chills and kills from the alpha build.
While Halo: Reach isn't due out until this fall, our Garnett's already had a gander at the squad-based prequel and an eight-minute 'ViDoc' offered a peek behind the scenes.

Reach multiplayer is... nearly exactly the same thing as Halo 3? I really had expected... something different. Why would anyone buy it for that?
My desire to buy is plummeting. I guess I'll gamefly it to play the single player for a story where we know the home team loses and gets their faces kicked in. Oh man can't wait for that either.

ODST was possibly the greatest con in gaming history. Boring, uninspired game play with multiplayer from a different game at full retail price. Remarkable.

... not to forget all the DLC and new versions of 'Legendary' packs etc. etc. to suck the money out of you.

This isn't a bad thing.
But not being able to use mouse/keyboard to play an FPS *is* a bad thing.

I think its dumb thought that you have to go into that scripted sneak kill for beat downs from behind tho. Its such a fast paced game that youre bound to be killed by someone else while doing that.
The new weapons dont look like theyre too original either. Rocket launcher + Plasma grenades = Plasma grenade launcher ?!? Thats fuckin weak. Same for the needler rifle. Weak.
But playable.
