Braid Creator Jonathan Blow Details Next Game
by Brian Leahy, Mar 01, 2010 1:30pm PSTThe Witness, the next game from Braid creator Jonathan Blow, is described by the mang himself as "an exploration-puzzle game on an uninhabited island."
Blow has setup a development blog and released the concept art seen above. The first entry of substance details Blow's deliberations over choosing a graphics engine that would serve the game's graphical style and lighting requirements without wasting too much memory on textures and use too much processor time.
Blow will release the title "on multiple platforms -- whatever makes sense in late 2011, when the game will hopefully be finished." We'll have more on as it is revealed.

Because while a lot of people would agree that the gameplay in Braid was awesome and intelligent, I believe very few people think the story was any good. That game would have been better without a story than with what it had.

The gameplay, by itself, was merely ok. But together with the story, it was really special.
