Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Trailer Explores Two New Day One DLC Multiplayer Maps

Having already revealed that those who buy a new copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be rewarded with free additional content, publisher Electronic Arts and developer DICE have put out a trailer exploring the first two of those additions.

The two new maps--Laguna Alta (Conquest Mode) and Nelson Bay (Rush Mode)--will be unlocked for those that have redeemed or purchased a "VIP code" when the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 shooter launches on March 2 in North America.

A second map pack, one that adds Arica Harbor (Conquest Mode) and Laguna Presa (Rush Mode), will be availble as a free download to VIP users "later in March."

I don't understand publishers giving separate multiplayer maps as a preorder bonus. Wouldn't that just divide the community from the start? Or make it hard to find servers for those maps that were preorder only? BFBC2 will probably have so many players that it won't matter, but it always seemed like an odd thing to do. Played the beta for PC and didn't really care for it. The input felt laggy and the combat felt slow. Only played for a little over an hour so maybe that wasn't enough time to really get a good feel for the game.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is all totally fun for the game... But FYI, shooting your rifle while parachuting does not exist in reality. As I understand it, there is NO WAY you can hold on to your weapon as your chute is deploying (i.e. descelerating you from free-fall speeds) and you're controlling your descent/direction. It's kept securely tied to your body so you don't lose it, and you get it out when you land.
