EA 'Reviewing' NCAA Basketball Games Series, Currently Not Developing Another Entry
by Chris Faylor, Feb 10, 2010 8:01pm PSTThe lack of a new NCAA Basketball entry in Electronic Arts' listing of its key titles through March 2011 was no mistake, as the company has now confirmed that it is not currently developing a new entry in the once-annual college basketball franchise.
"We do not have an NCAA Basketball game in development at this time, and we're currently reviewing the future of our NCAA Basketball business," said EA SPORTS communications director David Tinson, as relayed by Game Informer.
Competitor 2K Sports stopped production of its NCAA-endorsed College Hoops series in 2008, simply stating that it no longer wished to pursue to necessary negotiations.
As for NCAA Football, that particular series is safe for the time being--Electronic Arts recently described this year's entry, NCAA Football 11, as one of its flagship games.
