Non-Profit Charity Puzzler Chime Due Wednesday
by Chris Faylor, Feb 01, 2010 12:20pm PSTMicrosoft has confirmed that non-profit publisher OneBigGame will be rolling out its first release, the musical puzzler Chime, to the Xbox Live Marketplace come Wednesday, February 3.
Priced at 400 Microsoft Points ($5), the downloadable Xbox 360 game was crafted pro bono by Zoe Mode. Among the studio's past work are contributions to the SingStar, Guitar Hero, Disney Sing It, Dancing with the Stars and Rock Revolution franchises, along with the mind-bending puzzler Crush.
"Games will be available for a limited exclusivity period, ranging from 4-12 months, during which all net proceeds will be going to charity," OneBigGame previously explained, with the publisher expecting to release "more than 15" donated titles across 2010.
As for the actual gameplay behind Chime, it looks to combine the shaped pieces of Tetris with the square-making music-driven mindset of Lumines. If that doesn't make a lick of sense, or you want to see it in motion, scope out the tutorial trailer below:
