Like okay, in STO, you start on the ship being attacked by the borg. And if you look out the window, there's a battle going on, but it's the ships just sitting there shooting. Over and over. Not moving or anything. It's so MMO-ey, that it can't help but feel the sameness. And I think that sameness isn't as ignorable after you've experienced MMOs.
But I do see your point about different MMOs possibly being resets for that
